PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP - Blue Mountains

Aimed at photographers who already have a grasp of the basics, this photography workshop hosted by Landscape Photographer Lee Duguid will give you the knowledge to add polish to your photos and push your photography to the next level. The course is class room based with a number of optional shoots in the surrounding area.

COURSE LITERATURE & VIDEO TUTORIAL DVD
A comprehensive book and DVD combining written and videos tutorials for all techniques covered on the weekend plus more.

CLASS ROOM SESSIONS
Lee will teach you an easy to follow workflow for processing your images using Photoshop, Adobe Camera RAW, and Adobe Bridge. Learn how to process your images giving them greater dynamic range, colours that pop, adding drama and interest.

Topics Include:

File preparation and cleanup
Photoshop basic
Layers and masking techniques
Colour Correction
Black & White processing
Panoramic Stitching
HDR - the proper way!
Pro 'tricks'
Output for print and web

Advanced shooting techniques also discussed:
Using Filters (where, when, how)

OPTIONAL SHOOTS

If you would like to shoot with Lee, see the techniques he uses and ask questions then there are several optional shoots taking place over the weekend. These sessions are not intended to teach you how to shoot but rather an opportunity to get out, and take some photos in the Blue Mountains with some guidance if required.

BLUE MOUNTAINS WORKSHOP - 5th/6th May 2012

Be part of the first course where I teach students step by step how I create my images using Adobe Photoshop. Book now to secure your place.

Date specific details

The course will be held at the Blue Hotel, Blue Mountains with optional shoots in the surrounding national park. Please read the above itinerary for details on what the course will involve and approximate times.

Participants are free to book accommodation anywhere they choose or even drive from Sydney each morning. Accommodation is available at Blue Hotel where there are a range of options. If you are interested in sharing a twin room please note this at the time of booking and I'll try and match you up. Prices and more information can be found on their website.

The course includes morning/afternoon tea, and lunch. Computers are not provided so please bring your own. If you can't bring one let me know and I'll do my best to ensure there is at least one to share between every two students. A 30 day trial version of Photoshop can be downloaded for the course for those that don't own it.

ITINERARY Photoshop Workshop   Blue Mountains

Friday 4th May 2012
8pm to 9pm – Meet and Greet

Saturday 5th May 2012
5.30am – Meet for optional sunrise shoot (sunrise at 6.36am)
7.30am to 9.00am – Breakfast / free time (to shower, relax etc.)
9.00am to 12.30pm – Advanced Capture techniques, Visualisation (Capture and Post), Photoshop basics
12.30pm to 1.30pm – Lunch
1.30pm to 4.00pm – Simple but effective work flow (RAW through to Output)
4.00pm to 5.30pm – Optional sunset shoot (sunset at 5.14pm)

Evening is free but participants do have the option of shooting the almost full moon (98%) and going out for dinner / drinks after. I'll arrange something for those interested.

Sunday 6th May 2012
5.30am – Meet for optional sunrise shoot (sunrise at 6.36am)
7.30am to 9.00am – Breakfast / free time (to shower, relax etc.)
9am to 12.30pm – Work flow practical, Fixing problematic images
12.30pm to 1.30pm – lunch
1.30pm to 4.30pm – Advanced work flow including Luminosity Masking (realistic looking HDR photography)
