Moeraki Boulders
Situated on Koekohe Beach, the Moeraki Boulders stand exhumed by coastal erosion from the surrounding cliff face. The are one of my favourite places to photograph just because the boulders are so unique. Great at both sunrise and sunset you can easily use hard or soft grads to control the exposure. Trying to keep the horizon straight and the camera still can be painful as the tripod is constantly sinking into the sand. There is plenty room to stand back and take longer shots if you want to keep your feet dry. This is a very popular tourist destination, no doubt there will be other photographers there snapping away so be warned.
