Happy New Year, hello and welcome to my first newsletter of 2010. Since we last spoke I’ve been to the North Island of NZ, dabbled in tilt shift time lapse video making, shot a models portfolio and published my first photographic guide (Manly, NSW). In between all of that I’ve been organising my exhibition at Ash’s Table, processed some new images, consumed half a turkey and celebrated New Year! Here are some points of interest:

Exhibition Ash’s Table – Reminder
Starting January 13th running for 6 week I will be exhibiting at Ash’s Table Cafe, Manly. I hope you can make it along, have a coffee and check out my images.

Ivanhoe Hotel Manly – Australia Day
On Australia Day (Tuesday 26th January), 11am-3pm I will be displaying 10 images from the Northern Beaches on the lobby bar plasma screens. A good excuse to go for a beer not that you need one on Australia day!

2010 Calendar

I’m pleased to announce the release of two beautiful 2010 calendars featuring my favourite photographs of Sydney’s Northern Beaches and New Zealand’s South Island. I’ve been busy shooting an assignment using compact cameras so haven’t been shooting with the SLR much in the last month. Here is one I took the other morning at Turimetta Beach in between compact shots.

It’s been a busy few months since my last newsletter with a couple of photo trips and my first solo exhibition.

Solo Exhibition update
Thanks to everyone who visited my first solo exhibition at RAW studios in Manly. It was a great success with hundreds of visitors over the 10 days and even a write up in the local newspaper, the Manly Daily. I’ve posted some images from the opening night here for those interested.

Exhibition GIG Gallery
As part of ‘Northern Expressions’ a Northern Beaches groups of artists I will be exhibiting two images at the Gig Gallery in Glebe. For more information please visit the Gig Gallery’s website. The opening night is on Tuesday 27th October (sorry about the late notice), please come and join me for a drink.

Canvas prints – new pricing
After printing the impressive 39 X 59 North Curl Curl canvas (1m x 1.5m) for my exhibition I’ve decided to offer this size for all my high resolution images. It really does have a massive visual impact and looks great on a feature wall. With the introduction of this product and in the lead up to Christmas I have decided to lower my canvas prices on the larger sizes. These great new prices are available immediately so purchase soon for Christmas to avoid disappointment.

Framing & Canvas Stretching
As a free service to my customers I am happy provide print framing and canvas stretching at cost. As I have close ties with local framers in the Northern Beaches this can often be at a reduced price otherwise offered. Please email or call for further information.

I’ve printed this photograph on a 12×18 canvas and have submitted it for display as part of the Manly ‘Lagoon Life’ festival. I will be taking part in the Manly Lagoon Life Festival this coming weekend as part of the ‘Artists with Easels’ group. If you see me come and have a chat, I’ll be wondering around with my camera trying to find a unique angle to shoot of the lagoon. I’m happy to announce my first solo exhibition taking place in my home town of Manly, Sydney. The exhibition opening on Tuesday 25th August 2009 showcases some of my favourite landscape photography taken in both Australia and New Zealand. The exhibition opening night held on Thursday 27th August 2009 will coincide with the official launch of my website. Please join me for a celebratory drink, details can be found here.

Other News

Over the past 6 months I’ve been busy adding content to my website as well as expanding my portfolio with new photographs from New Zealand, Blue Mountains, and in and around Sydney. I’ve also just returned from a trip to Victoria and will be posting some new panoramic, urban, rural and seascape images in the coming weeks.

In the near future I’m planning to provide group and individual landscape photography courses starting in Manly expanding to other locations with demand. If you are interested in attending a course or know anyone that would be then please email me and I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted.
